Why choose us?

Quick and reliable laboratory tests

Complete laboratory blood tests; on-site blood taking; appointments without waiting and referrals; available every workday.

Test results within 24 hours.

Blood test results may be sent to you electronically or by mail, or you may get them in person.

Painless blood tests

At our centre, you or your child may have the opportunity to request an anaesthetic cream before taking blood, which makes blood sampling completely painless. The cream, which can also be applied to new-born babies, develops its numbing effects within 1 hour, and it makes the treated skin insensitive 5-6 mm from the surface.

No referral needed

If you need special laboratory tests or simply don’t want to wait months for a specialist consultation to get a referral, you can take any laboratory test for a given fee, even if you don’t have a referral. However, we recommend that you consult your GP or healthcare professional before taking the blood test so that we can choose the tests that best suit you.

Specialist counselling about your blood test results

If you are unsure about which blood tests you should choose based on your complaints, or if you don’t know whether additional blood tests should be performed based on your results, please consult one of our specialist and we will answer any questions you may have for free.

What happens during a blood test?

A typical blood test only takes a few minutes. We provide our patients with a relaxing and comfortable environment. If you felt dizzy or fainted during or after a blood test in the past, tell the person carrying out the test so they’re aware. In this case, we can help you feel more comfortable and take the blood sample whilst you are lying in a bed. When taking blood from your child, you can stay with them during the test. We approach our little patients with great patience and try to playfully resolve their fears. Blood sampling, which may be preceded by the application of anaesthetic cream, is performed in the most humane, painless way possible.

What can blood tests be used to?

  • Laboratory tests may reveal how well certain organs or organ systems (i.e. kidney, liver, hormonal system) work

  • Screening for specific diseases (such as diabetes, thyroid disorders, autoimmune diseases, etc.)

  • Provide help with finding out the background of certain complaints (e.g. fatigue, hair loss, weight gain, weight loss, allergic skin symptoms, etc.)

  • Follow-up of the progression of known diseases (e.g. diabetes, certain tumours, etc.)

  • Enables determining the predisposition for certain genetic disorders (genetic tests for conditions such as tumours, thrombosis, coeliac disease, etc.)

Blood test results

The evaluation of laboratory test results falls under the exclusive competence of a specialist physician. Therefore, please consult your GP with the lab results you have received, or book an appointment for one of our specialist consultations.

Special laboratory tests

Blood group check

Blood group checks are often useful or essential (e.g. in cases of surgery, plastic surgery, emergency first aid, blood group diet, paternity test, blood transfusion or organ transplantation). Knowing your blood group is important for gynaecologists and obstetricians because the possible differences in the blood group of the mother and the child may endanger the health of the foetus or new-born.

GastroPanel test

GastroPanel is a complex blood biomarker test that determines the condition and function of the gastric mucosa.

Drug hypersensitivity test

Taking several different types of medication may be necessary to relieve sudden or chronic symptoms. Taking medications can also cause unexpected symptoms, so it is important to be aware of the ingredients you are allergic to.

Allergy tests

Inhalation (e.g. pollen), nutritive (food) and combination panels are available at Mentaház, and the most appropriate is chosen after taking patient’s medical history. Molecular allergy testing is also available for the following allergens: milk, egg, peanut, walnut, wheat flour, fruits, birch, dust mite, bee, wasp.

Food tolerance test

In many cases, complaints persist despite the negative results of a range of medical examinations. If you are experiencing unexplained headaches, dizziness, rashes, indigestion, or fatigue, your diet may be responsible.

Gluten sensitivity (coeliac disease)

Wheat, barley, and rye are gluten-containing cereals. The storage protein family in these seeds is called gluten.

Intolerance tests

Symptoms of intolerance may vary. In some cases, intolerance lies in the background of increased risk of diarrhoea, bloating, nausea and sometimes even heart attack. These tests are performed on blood or mucosal smear samples.

Screening tests for sexually transmitted diseases

Chlamydia, Hepatitis A, B, HIV, HPV (diagnosis, typing)

Tumour markers

Detection of proteins produced by the body in response to tumour tissue growth.
